What is Twitter? Twitter is a Social Networking site where you can converse with others about like interests online. Twitter is a Social Networking site that is simillar to other Social Medias such as Facebook, StumbleUpon etc. these are some of the most popular Social Networking sites. Each site has it’s own demographics. Each site has it’s own uses as well as it’s own set of rules for use.
Twitter is basically a way for people to make friends and contacts through quick messages that always answers the question of what are you doing? Twitter does have one distinct difference then other social media sites and that is the form of communication that they use. Twitter only allows 140 characters of communication at one time. so really all you can send or text at once is a message of no more than hundred and forty chracters. In reality then you are simply sending out text messages to your friends and associates. They call these tweets. I know this all sounds very cute. But once you get in and start using it you can start to appreciate it’s power to network. If you do a little research you will be able to find many ways to build lasting relationships with friends and associates.
I went to a seminar recently about social networking where one of the speakers had his laptop open and was conversing with his twitter following during the seminar. He was keeping his followers informed as to what he was doing at the time during the seminar. Do you think that is too high tech? I think not. Text messaging is one of the most popular cell phone uses available today besides the internet. Of course that is one of the major uses of twitter.
Once you find out how building your busness on Twitter really isn’t that difficult. One way to accomplish this is by building a following of members.
