Are the number of golfers dropping due to comuter games?

The real problem is that the real sports only apply to the people that play them whereas the computer games like Wii Sports can apply to anyone at all which is having a huge impact on sport itself. So how close are the games to the real thing? The question is, do you burn the same amount when you are playing the sports on a games console? The best way to put it is . . . perhaps.  Obviously if you are buying say a golf game for the 360 or PS3 it is not going to do anything apart from save you money on one of those electric golf trolleys.

On the other hand if you were to purchase one on the Wii the only thing you are missing out on is the walking aspect of the sport. To be fair most of the pro. With game developers keen to keep making the sporting games as realistic as possible the Wii is able to take advantage especially from this using its motion control way of playing games. When you are playing games on the Wii like golf and tennis it really does feel like you are playing the real thing at certain moments, the same is true for all sports in which you use your hands. The brand new attachment for the Wii, out later this year, means that motion sensing technology is going to propel even more forward. This is going to mean that game devlopers are going to try even harder to make the games more realistic than ever before. Does all of this really make a difference on anything at all? It's a great way to save some pennies in the long run if you cant afford to go out and pay to play the sports. You dont have to wear strict clothing for console golf, just switch it on and play in whatever you want.

Personally I love games, but I think that they should stick to making the games that people that play them like and leave the sporting ones out of it. It would be a great shame to see the people who start up playing sports and become big starts to decline due to the fact games are becoming ever more realistic and more entertaining.

So next time your stuck between going out in the rain for a round of golf or plugging in the Wii for a bit of a game, stop and think, the real thing is always better so charge up those golf batteries and get playing!
